The Story:

In the early 1700s, Spain and England clashed over succession after King Charles II of Spain died without an heir. In 1715, under Philip V, a fleet of eleven Spanish ships set sail from Havana, Cuba, carrying luxury goods, gold, silver, and treasures across the Atlantic. The fleet met disaster, and today, these coins are part of the most famous sunken treasure stories in history, valued by some at nearly half a billion dollars.

This Charles II Gold 2 Escudos is a rare survivor from that fleet, offering collectors a tangible connection to the golden age of Spanish treasure fleets.
